The pilotless frame synchronization approach and implementations of LDPC code are the crucial issue of LDPC decoder. The Maximum-A-Posteriori probability( MAP) decoder has a perfect frame synchronization error rate( FSER) performance. In this paper,a theoretical derivation of the FSER performance of pilotless frame synchronization for LDPC code is presented. The FSER performance by theoretical analysis coincides well with that by simulation in additive white Gaussian channel and Rician fading channel. So it is estimated the FSER performance of an LDPC code by theoretical analysis can be used instead of the simulations which are much more time-consuming.
To improve the reliable performance of information transmission in cooperative relay networks, the scheme of the max-rate spatial channel pairing (SCP) based on maximum ratio combining (MRC) is proposed. The scheme includes three steps: channel phase cancellation, MRC, and SCP. Eventually, the solution of the scheme is modeled as convex optimization. The objective function of the optimization problem is to maximize the transmission rate and the optimization variable is the strategy of pairing between the uplink spatial sub-channels of each user and the corresponding downlink spatial ones. The theorem of the arrangement inequalities is adopted to obtain the approximate closed-form solution of the optimal pairing for this convex optimization. Simulation results demonstrate that compared to the existing distributed space-time block coding and coherent combined schemes without SCP, the proposed max-rate SCP plus MRC algorithm achieves appreciable improvements in symbol error rate in medium and high signal-to-noise ratio regimes. The achievable performance gain is due to the use of maxrate SCP.
A pilot pattern across two orthogonal frequency division multiplexing OFDM symbols with a special structure is designed for the channel estimation of OFDM systems with inphase and quadrature IQ imbalances at the receiver.A high-efficiency time-domain TD least square LS channel estimator and a low-complexity frequency-domain Gaussian elimination GE equalizer are proposed to eliminate IQ distortion. The former estimator can significantly suppress channel noise by a factor N/L+1 over the existing frequency-domain FD LS where N and L+1 are the total number of subcarriers and the length of cyclic prefix and the proposed GE requires only 2N complex multiplications per OFDM symbol.Simulation results show that by exploiting the TD property of the channel the proposed TD-LS channel estimator obtains a significant signal-to-noise ratio gain over the existing FD-LS one whereas the proposed low-complexity GE compensation achieves the same bit error rate BER performance as the existing LS one.
In order to address spectrum resource scarcity in traditional cellular networks, television(TV)white space is considered as a potential solution to offload a portion of network traffic and enlarge network capacity. This paper describes a cognitive cellular network which allocates low geometry users to the TV white space based on a proportional fair criterion. An uplink user allocation scheme is proposed and the validity of the proposed scheme is established by simulation of the cellular network usage in conjunction with the TV white space. The simulation results show clear improvements in both the user and the system performance with the cognitive coexistent cellular network compared with the traditional cellular network, and that the performance of the proposed user allocation scheme is superior to other user allocation schemes.
