The gas chromatography-mass spectrometry-data system(GC-MS-DS) is used to study the changes of major chemical components and to discuss the reaction mechanism during catalytic isomerization of turpentine over Pd/C.At 250 ℃,when the quantity of catalyst is 0.05% turpentine weight,we study the catalytic isomerization of turpentine to prepare high-strength limonene. The contents of pinene and limonene are respectively 8.36% and 57.67% at reaction time of 120 min, while camphene is just 2.72% of the oil.The tracking analysis indicats that the reaction rate of pinene isomerizing to monocyelic monoterpene is faster than that to acyclic monoterpene, and pinene isomerized to limonene is the main reaction, whose speed is greater than that of camphene.Meanwhile,we find that the content of sesquiterpene is not changed on the whole.
