The correct and thorough interpretation of the scientific and historic base of “Knowledge Economy” requires the necessary understanding of the two perspectives and its relationship that Marx Inquire into the Question of Productivity, namely both the ontological and the dialectical. The author points out that the two perspectives and its relationship show that the definition of“Knowledge Economy”can not go beyond the ontologically determining role of the productivity. Only if the process of the emergence and the development of “Knowledge Economy” is interpreted ontologically, and furthermore, “Knowledge Economy” is defined dialectically, can we interpret the scientific and historic base of “Knowledge Economy” correctly and thoroughly.
This paper explores the relationship between the human beings development and historical materialism in terms of the two perspectives: namely,the historical materialism and the human beings development. The author believes that the value adoption regarding human beings development as the core is another basic dimension in historical materialism relating to the scientific cognitive dimension. In the past, this value adoption was disregarded. In the deep real intention, the special characteristics of Marx’s thinking lies in its critical nature and its value pursuit of human beings development. In the contemporary era, to locate the theory of human beings development in the system of historical materialism will contribute to the integrity of the system, revealing the essence and novelty of materialist conception of history, opening new routes for its development, elevating the level of the research of the theory of human beings development, and establishing new theoretical formations for materialist conception of history with scientific cognition and value adoption alternately merged and mutually permeated.
