The adsorption kinetics and isotherms of surfactant(OP-10)and tin(Ⅱ)ion by activated carbon at high sulfuric acid concentration were studied. The results show that OP-10 adsorption by activated carbon is rapid within 5 minutes, and then the adsorption slows down.In comparison, tin(Ⅱ)ion adsorption does not have a similar tendency until 20 minutes. In the constant concentration of sulfuric acid at 150g/l,the saturated adsorption quantities of OP-10 and tin(Ⅱ)ion on activated carbon are 2.51g/g and 1.22g/g,respectively.Sulfuric acid concentration has little effect on OP-10 adsorption;on the contrary,it has remarkable effect on tin(Ⅱ)ion.Temperature has no significant influence on both adsorbates.
