The title compound,[Zn(mppdc)(2,2-bpy)]n(1),is synthesized via the reaction of Zn(NO3)2 with 2,6-dimethyl-4-phenylpyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid(H2mppdc) and 2,2’-bipyridyl(2,2-bpy),and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis and infrared spectra. The complex crystallizes in triclinic system, space group P-1 with a=9.3820(13),b=12.0970(16),c=13.130(2) ,α=75.940(3),β=74.850(3),γ=72.670(2)°,V=1350.9(3) 3,Z=1,C50H38N6O8Zn2,M=981.60,Dc=1.207 g/cm3,F(000)=504 and μ(MoKα)=0.940 mm-1.The final R=0.0840 and wR=0.2256 for 4666 observes reflections with I>2σ(I),and R=0.1284 and wR=0.2455 for all data.X-ray diffraction studies reveal that the title compound has an interesting 3-D porous architecture with 4 void channels.
An organically templated vanadium phosphate phosphite, [V2O2(OH)(HPO3)(HPO3)0.75(PO3OH)0.3](C6N2H16)0.5 (1), was hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 crystallizes in monoclinic system, space group C2/c with cell parameters a=1.305 58(18) nm, b=1.020 69(10) nm, c=1.909 8(2) nm, V=2544.9(5) nm3 and Z=8. It possesses a layered architecture and organic template molecules located between the inorganic layers forming hydrogen bonds. The inorganic layers are constructed of V(Ⅳ)O5 square pyramid, [PO3OH2-] pyramid and [HPO2-3] pseudo pyramid by sharing vertices.
