It is rather difficult to measure the daily food consumption (DFC) and the cumulative food consumption (CFC) of rodent species with biological experiments. In order to overcome such problem,we tried to use the mathematical relationship between DFC and the age of M.brandti as well as the mass growth curve to get the mathematical relationship between the DFC and age of M.brandti .Further analysis is also presented to obtain the mathematical relationship between CFC and the age of M.brandti by definite integral method.Current analysis may provide basic information to estimate the economical threshold density of M.brandti .
By the food storing preference experiment conducted on the M. Brandti ,it is revealed that there is an apparent preference of this species: the most favorable component is the root of Artemisia scoparia ,then the A.frigida ,and then the branch and fruit of A.scoparia .Such preference is related with the food storing order in the caches of the communal over winter group.
