A GC-MS method for analysis of amino acid compositions in fingermark residues was established.Sample was extracted by ethanol and derivatized with N-methyl-N-(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide for 6 min at 600 W of microwave. The recovery, repeatability, detection limit, and linear equation were investigated. The results indicated the method was rapid, sensitive and effective, and was very helpful for the development of fingerprint technique.
